Is a program that helps pay for those that provide care and live with older adults and individuals with disabilities. The State of Connecticut created this unique program for individuals who are the primary caregiver of a friend or family member to remain living at home, instead of relying on long term care such as assisted living or nursing homes. This program enables family members or friends acting as a primary caregiver to get paid to care for a loved one in their own home. If you are the primary caregiver of a friend or family member, you could be eligible to get paid. To be eligible for the Adult Family Living Program – Family member or friend receiving care must be:
- 65 years old or older.
- Have Medicaid (Title 19) /Husky.
- Live in the same house as the caregiver.
- Need help with day-to-day activities.
